That’s crazy, in the Netherlands (though about 16x smaller than Texas) the 10 biggest stadiums in the country are Football (soccer) stadiums ranging from 10400 capacity at #10 to about 56000 capacity for the #1 stadium (build for 130 million euro). All at the highest paid level of professional football.

Where do they even find 300,000 people to watch high school football each week.

The big high school sports games here in the UK get the parents, at least of most of the kids playing.

Do non-sports events get massive following from non-parents -- school plays for example?

Still the US tax payer is an infinite gold mine I guess. Local football teams in the UK tend to pay for their own stadiums

Just like those European football fans visiting the US for the world cup this summer, the European mind cannot fathom the American (over)abundance.


Ok, so about 0.0134%, Parent comment’s point is that -the average European- absolutely does not want the US healthcare system in Europe. Simply due to our shared believe healthcare is a basic right and should be universally available to everyone.

Those who have the financial means to travel to the USA for medical treatment do so largely due to running out of conventional options at home, experimental treatments or specific doctors who are regarded as the best in their particular field.

Most of the US outbound medical travel is due to treatment at home being too expensive and risking pushing entire families to bankruptcy.

The fact that 100k europeans fly to the US for medical treatment is factual, but does not equal them wanting the US healthcare system in Europe.


That's about how many need it, can afford it, and can't wait for an appointment in half a year.


Idk .. I injured my knee playing soccer (tore a bunch of ligaments) a few months ago. Wasn't life threatening. Still, got care after waiting for about an hour, xray and all. On a Saturday. In Sweden, single payer insurance. I paid only about $20 out of pocket.

Have you checked if it can be flashed with Tasmota/ESPhome, etc? I believe it can be integrated with homekit.

I also realized that the skill necessary to accomplish this was way above my comfort level. I did see a product called the Bond Bridge Pro that has good reviews. The FCC ID for the fans isn't listed in their database yet but it may still work. I haven't had the time to dig further into it.

XBMC was a lot of fun back in the old days. As I got older, I definitely got lazier with stuff like that, went to an Apple TV, and was happy there. :)

I’m in Spain and get 10Gbit symmetric which comes down to about 7000mbps up and down on speedtests to my airbnb (in a small town 30min away from a touristic hotspot) for 30 euro’s. My home in Barcelona gets 1gbit symmetric for 25 euro.

Competition here has gotten pretty good with lots of virtual carrier being allowed by law to use telefonicas ftth which has driven prices down.

I’m the opposite to you where I’m always surprised when I hear people in fairly big towns/cities in US/UK etc are still on less then 100mbit symmetric!


Nice this is awesome! Well done. Once you have everything in NMEA it really does become very easy to integrate with other marine hardware/software. Literally everything runs on it :)
