Fair question :)
Well, first of all, only the photos you explicitly select go to the app. No permissions given for the whole gallery. So you can just avoid uploading dick pics to Keeplea :)
What you (and only you) decide to upload, then goes to Cloud Storage and Gemini. So the only provider your photos are shared with is Google.
But the honest part is that the data is not end-to-end encrypted. In transit and at rest, yes, but I run the project, so technically I can look. I don't and I have special machinery around my processes so that I never do this unintentionally, but that's still a promise. Do you think this would be a blocker for potential app users? What can I do if the on-device processing is not an option?
About costs. It's subscriptions, nothing else. Free tier stops at 20 captures, Pro is $9.99/month (for US, different for other countries). Processing itself is very cheap (a small fraction of a cent per photo).
Thanks! It uses Gemini, so it's definitely not on-device processing. I tried it, the quality is far away from what I needed. Thanks for your concerns! I'm already addressing some, but I agree, it's the most important part here.
It's a very valid point! I always wanted to add pricing information to the website. However, I have two concerns here:
1. I'm experimenting with pricing a lot, especially in the very beginning. Having 3 places (App Store, Google Play, website) to update prices complicates things.
2. Prices are different for different countries and I'm not sure how to represent this on the website. On the App Store it's clear - you just see your country's pricing automatically, but how do I achieve this in a website? Well, technically, it's of course, possible, but it looks like a huge complication as well.
To begin with, a description/comparison table of the limitations/extra features between free and paid plus a pointer to the app stores and their price listings would be helpful.
